Individuation is integrating the conscious with the unconscious, for the purpose of self-actualisation. Expressing one's creativity, quest for spiritual enlightenment, pursuit of knowledge, and the desire to give to society are examples of self-actualisation. The Individuation process brings up the true personality of a person, it makes him/her an Individual. Individuation generally has a profound healing effect on the person. (Jung, 1962, p. 433).
